Eustis-Langdon papers, 1803-1876.

Letters and miscellaneous papers of William Eustis and members of the Langdon family of Portsmouth, N.H. Correspondents include N.H. Gov. John Langdon, Henry Sherburne Langdon, and William Eustis Langdon. Topics referred to in the letters include the War of 1812, with a description of the death of Henry S. Langdon in the battle between the ships Wasp and Reindeer; pension claims of Revolutionary War veterans; a description of the Niagara Falls region in 1823; and Massachusetts and national politics. Langdon was a businessman and politician from New Hampshire. He was a member of the U. S. Constitutional Convention and signer of the U. S. Constitution.
